Your Replacement Sash Windows Thermal Rating.

The thermal rating of a lot of newly produced replacement sash windows is measured in ‘R Value’ as being the preferred measurement of the window manufacturers.  The ‘R Value’ measures the resistance to transferring heat.  This measurement is affected by the following.

· How many layers of glazing are present in the replacement sash windows (i.e. do the windows have double glazing, triple glazing).
· The space or gap between each layer of glazing in the window.
· What sort of glazing material is in the window.
· How well the unit was installed with regard to air leakage.
· The type of glazing that you have in the window, (i.e. normal glass,  treated glass, etc).

All of these factors will affect the ‘R Value’ or the thermal efficiency of your repalcement sash windows.
