The assembly should only take a few hours by a trained installation crew or a couple of days if you are tackling it yourself. To keep your steel carport well secured for a long time you will also need to anchor it down to the foundation. Anchors are not a necessity in all areas of the country so you will need to find out if your local building laws require anchoring of outdoor shelters.
In many ways, a steel shelter is only second best to a traditional brick or concrete shelter. A concrete carport does unfortunately take a lot of money and time to construct. Brick and concrete block building requires specialized skills and muscle that an average consumer may not be able to accomplish alone. A cement or mortar mixer will also be needed which costs a lot of money even if you have to rent one.
