Non-essential Swimming Pool Accessories
If you own a pool, you may be uncertain about whether or not you should buy a solar swimming pool cover for it. I’ve owned a pool for several years now and we did have a solar swimming pool cover that we used for our above ground swimming pool for two seasons. Quite honestly, as swimming pool accessories go, I found that I was not really thrilled with it. My independent tests indicated that it didn’t really do very much to keep my pool much warmer. The average overnight temperature drop was within one or two degrees and for me, it didn’t justify the hassle of getting the darn thing on and off every day. Perhaps if I’d had some type of automated system for dealing with the cover, I would have liked it more. Right now, it is stored in my shed where it has been since last spring. Your results may vary.
