My Wonder With The Timeless Wall Clock
As a perpetual student, learner and writer, I am fascinated with objects that seem to transcend time. It is ironic, then, that one of those items is the wall clock for me. Because it is an object of obvious time telling nature, the clock is one of those magical items. It has a certain quality on its own that allows it to almost tell a story of time itself. You can observe its crafted qualities, the tones it makes, the rhythm it keeps, possibly even the pendulum it swings. There are any number of qualities that make these one of my favorites. It is more popular now to own large wall clocks. In times past, there would sit a wood wall clock there in the den or parlor, nothing too obvious, fancy or extravagant. Sure, the detailing is admirable, but nothing that would make you turn and take notice like some large 48 inch clock on your wall. There is nothing right or wrong about either, just something more of a “sign of the times” I suppose.
