Number four, try to keep your voice column. The level of your voice will either insight your spouse or will calm them down. A loud voice and yelling will only make them angry at you. Don’t get into the business of name-calling. Even ones tone if it seems sarcastic can cause the argument to intensify.

Number five, do not make a speech. That is going over the top and will not be appreciated or received well. Simply explain your perspective is clearly, simply, and is briefly as you can. And then spend time listening to what you’re partner says in response.
