Baby Walkers – Pros and Cons

There has been some debate in recent years over the use of baby walkers.  Some say that the use of a walker can speed up the process of learning to walk unaided, while others say that it can actually delay development.  There are also numerous debates on whether baby walkers aid leg muscle strength in young babies.

Although baby walkers have come a long way since the first uses, the basic product has not changed, and for many parents they have proved an invaluable resource not only for entertaining baby, but in helping their baby develop and explore in safety.  Baby walkers are now very popular and they are now used as an alternative to play pens and travel cots, while they allow some freedom for your baby, they also restrict your baby from becoming too adventurous too early, most now feature stationary wheel breaks and can be used as an entertainment center for baby too.  If you are considering purchasing a baby walker for your child, always follow the manafacturers guidelines and ensure that the walker you purchase is suitable for your baby’s age and weight.
